Consulting is all about being dynamic and turning business challenges into opportunities for growth. So, buckle up and get ready to dive into our journey, discovering what consultants do.

What is a career in consulting?
A career in consulting involves providing expert advice and solutions to businesses and organizations to help them overcome challenges, improve operations, and achieve their goals. Consulting offers the opportunity to tackle diverse projects, work with a variety of clients, and continuously learn while making an impact on companies' success. There are different types of consulting jobs, like management, strategy, IT, HR, finance, marketing, and operations consultants. Each type specializes in certain areas and gives custom solutions to clients.

What degree is required to break into the industry ?
Becoming a consultant typically involves obtaining the necessary education and certifications. While there's no one-size-fits-all answer, a bachelor's degree is often the minimum requirement. However, lots of consultants hold advanced degrees such as MBAs, Master's in Management, Economics, Finance, or other field-related ones. Therefore, the needed degrees for consulting change depending on what area you're focusing on.

What skills are relevant for the industry ?
Key skills for consultants are strong analytical and problem solving abilities, strategic thinking, excellent communication and presentation skills as well as data analysis and interpretation skills. Additionally, teamwork, adaptability, client management, the ability to work under pressure and being a continuous learner are highly valued in the consulting industry.

How much can I earn ?
In Germany, new consultants usually earn €40,000 to €70,000* annually. Senior consultants or those with specialized skills might earn €100,000 to €160,000* or more. Prestigious firms might offer higher salaries, often with additional benefits. Keep in mind that these figures are approximate and can vary based on the same considerations as mentioned earlier.
